Mr.Uttam
Dwa is a well known name and personality in the field of film business
and industry in Nepal. Being the owner of 4 selulide movie theaters of
his own in Pokhara, his involvement in the movie business seems almost
unlimited. From investing in Nepalese movies and supervision, to successful
release, effective marketing, and to meet the targeted profit requires
considerable amount of effort and administrtive skills. Hiring new movies
first time in Pokhara has it's own challenges. Huge amount for movie quotations
and getting the lottery among many experienced competitors and nominies
reqires a great courage because movie theater culture is decreasing day
by day due to increasing television culture. Economic and political crisis
of the nation has it's own effects besides. There are more chances of loss
than profit in this business. Here also his sucessful administrative skills
are reflected. So in total, Mr. Dwa is just like a piece of metal inside
the burning coal in the movie business of Nepal.
Even though, being a successful businessman and well recognized personality,
he is very simple, friendly, eager to help, curious and talkative. According
to him, his father Mr. Jeet Prasad Dwa is his source of inspiration and
blessings of his mother, Late Mrs. Veg Maya Dwa has enabled him to stay
in the current position. He is a strong believer of god and he is thankful
towards him for bringing him to enjoy this beautiful and creative world
of God as a human being and providing a chance to know the joys and sorrows.
In his own words, he has enjoyed every moment whatever life has provided
him. Although he has crossed 40 springs of his life, he still looks like
a flower at it's full blossom totally independent to time. Here is a short
interview with him taken by Ayush Shrestna and Sovit Basyal for www.pokharapage.com.
| Question: |
Mr. Dwa, what is the secret of your healthy and wealthy life? |
| Answer: |
Ah...ha ha ha (laugh). Very interesting question. Actually there
is a proverb,"Health is Wealth". Wealth is just like a momentum
breeze. It can come any time and vanishes at no time. You don't have
control over the breeze and wise man never worry about the momentum
things. But yeah, if you have control over your physiology then the
breeze do come and go. You can also have control over your health.
So health is the only thing that is significient for life and success
of life at it's best. So good health is the secret of my healthy and
wealthy life, or a successful life in total. Ha.. ha.. ha.. (laugh). |
| Question: |
So what is the secret of your healthy life? |
| Answer: |
Now that's a very good question. See when a child borns, he is surroundeb
by many kinds of things which are in favor and against him. Children
never identifies the favorable and unforable things, neither they
worry about them. It's their parents who worries about their health.
They know what the child should do, what the child should not eat
and how the child should act. Everything is controlled by the parents.
But when they grow up, it's only them who can have contrlo over themselves.
The one who have control over themselves or can control over their
emotions leads a smooth sailing life. Regular exercise, balanced diet,
positive attitude, and the strong will power is the reason of everybodys'
healthy and successful life. Mine too. |

it. Basically I'm a commerce garduate. |

| Question: |
In your eyes, how is the current business trend in Pokhara and how could we make Pokhara a city of opportunities? |
| Answer: |
Well, business trend is in slow motion, almost at the speed of a snail. Whatever was or is there just seems satisfactory. New have the question of survival. Pokhara is also a small place and very conjusted for new business to fit. Unfair competition and monlpoly are at tieir best and lack of education, plan and far sight ness, and political cricis makes it even worse. The controlling sector is either idle or in deep sleep. But still there are hopes. The political conditions seems like getting better. Pokhara is best for tourism and related business. It can be promoted widely. The nomination for making international airport in Pokhara is another hope. So to make Pokhara a city of hope and opportunity, the tourism and related business should be promoted more widely and the necessary education and training should be provided bor successful promotion. |
